Bear's Den

The Bear's Den is the downstairs unit of the McCarthy Guesthouse. The unit has a private entrance and is tucked slightly away from Main Street to ensure a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. One of the few remaining original residences dating back to the 1920's, the McCarthy Guesthouse is decorated with original furniture and artifacts.

The Bear's Den unit features two identical bedrooms, each with a dresser and semi-lofted King bed, and a living room with a comfortable Full-size futon. You can also enjoy the back porch and small backyard. The unit boasts a private bathroom with a modern shower, a luxury in off-the-grid McCarthy, as well as heat, electricity, Wifi and potable hot and cold water from the tap. This unit is perfect for groups of friends or those looking for a little more privacy.

*Please note that the unit does not feature a stove, microwave, kettle or any other cooking appliances or a refrigerator. Heat-producing devices will crash the electrical system so please do not bring your own cooking appliances. Be prepared to eat out at the restaurants nearby or bring dry/cold or rehydratable meals.

You'll find local eateries such as The Potato, The Golden Saloon, and McCarthy Lodge Bistro and Salmon and Bear as well as the local mercantile store with a limited selection, coffee shop, gift shop, guide service and air taxi office all within an easy walking distance.
